I was born in the small town of Easton, Mass.  While still in high school in the late 70’s, I got my start in milling by shoveling behind a Galion RP 30, as my summer job.  I graduated from Northeastern University, with a degree in Civil Engineering, on June 20th, 1983. The very next day I was on a flight from Massachusetts to Florida as the new President of Turtle Southeast.  I really had no idea what I was in for.

The next 5 years were spent running & repairing a few old worn out mills, bidding jobs and trying to build our fleet & work force on a very limited budget. Things were tough in the beginning, but I believe that experience was a key to our success today.

In the spring of 1988 I lost my leg below the knee in an accident involving one of our mills. It turned out to be a turning point for me professionally and a blessing for me personally.
Professionally I was forced, during my recovery, to focus less on the physical aspects of milling and more on the business of running the company.  Since that time, Turtle has grown steadily and has established itself as a leader in the milling industry.  We have built a team that has been able to support that growth while maintaining our integrity and the quality of our work.  Turtle would not be where it is today if not for the dedication and hard work of the individuals that make up the Turtle Team.  I am truly thankful for each and every member of what I consider The Turtle Family.

Personally, my accident started a chain of events that lead me to the Lord and changed my life forever. My priorities today are God, Family, and Turtle, in that order.  My off hours are spent enjoying my life with my beautiful wife (Janet) and our 4 beautiful girls, (Grace, Sophie, Sylvia, & Maria). Without their patience and support I would not be where I am today.  I also enjoy watching the Bucs, Lightning & Rays, and playing basketball whenever I can.
